The Burning World in Concert at 8PM, Friday, November 24th, 2023 at the Roberts Creek Legion
The Burning World will be followed by The New Song Butchers playing tasty dance covers until midnight.

The Burning World began as a loose affiliation of musicians from the Sunshine Coast and the Lower Mainland and featured the music of singer/songwriter Ross Powell. January 2017 saw the release of The Burning World's inaugural album; This Must Be Life ('cause I don't see The Reaper.

Taking a more band-based approach for the second upcoming album, Up In Smoke, Ross Powell-guitar, vocals, Regan Heydu-drums, Wayne Slingerland-keys, and Stu Young-slide guitar, added Mike West on bass, Martin Brown on lead guitar, and BGs Patrice Pollack and Heather Doré.

This line-up will also perform as The New Song Butchers.
Representing decades of musical experience and misinterpreted life lessons, The Song Butchers cover a vast range of genres and songs, both popular and obscure, only occasionally dissected into their constituent parts and reassembled in unfamiliar ways.
