Mivule

Mivule is an Afro-Reggae group with deep grooves and positive vibes, active in the Vancouver area since 2019. Led by Brian Baroda, a South Sudanese refugee, they play songs with lyrics in English, Luganda, and Swahili. Mivule takes its name from an East African teak tree, which was a gathering place in Brian's youth. Under the extended branches of this tree, villagers would meet to resolve disputes and seek harmony and unity as a community.

We are a 9 piece roots, reggae band with a love and affinity of mid-1970's deep cuts as well as an extensive repertoire of orignal songs written & curated by our bass player Kevin O'Brien.
